Interrail: The Rising oder Wie alles begann

Last weekend I met up again with a very old friend of mine. It had been about eight years since we had seen each other, but as we talked, it became obvious that we had spent each and every single day together between the age of six to sixteen, and that it still would just take a look to know what the other was thinking. At that old times, we used to do so many stupid things, that it would take me another 1000 Blogposts to even scratch the surface of our endless prank (this word is just sooo NOT cool at all) history.

But instead of boring you all to tears with my sweet childhood memories, I decided to put my very first Travel Logbook from 1987 online. It had been the first time in my life to write just for fun, for myself and on a daily basis. Even before Europe got connected to the Internet (OMG!)...

I was 14 and my best friend was 15 years old, when we decided not to come along to our families ultra boring holiday trips and instead do our very own thing. So we faced our parents with our brilliant plan, namely cycling from Munich down to Italy on the Brenner street. Which somehow was rejected, by the proposal to better try out this new railway ticket, which just got on the market. But to head off like that, it would simply be too late already. Of course our parents thought we would accept that as a fact and just forget about travelling on our own until the next years summer holidays.

Well... they clearly underestimated a teenagers determined memory.

Will I publish my clumsy (and not to mention not at all syntax and grammar conform) first attempts in writing in here? Will there be fotos from the 36 exposures we took during a whole month only at very wisely considered sport? And would our parents even allow us to leave the country at the age of 15 just on our own?

All this, and much more will unfold as the Story of the Rising of Dr.Sno* continues...

The good old Interrail :-)
