Read Me!
Ok, I guess there must be a good reason to name a file readme. Still I never even open those text files not to mention actually reading them. I either work things out by trying it or I simply can't be bothered.
Today I tried to modify the re-connection option on my telephone system. (It is a very very ancient Octopus E which is eventually even acting like its name giving cephalopod itself!).
After realising that the over 1.200 functions can be programmed using just 5 buttons, I thought it would be a clever idea to take a very first look into the manual.
Of course this manual had disapeared already since it did not get any attention over the past 10 years at all. And due to those 10 years the manual probably never made it to online display either...
In the end I managed to get it done by try and error, but I learned to appreciate manuals and will try to at least save the next readme-file somewhere on my hardrive...
