Daily Movies: Lords of Dogtown
I just returned from the Cinema where I saw the movie Lords of Dogtown. Once again a movie about a true story, but this time it is a story that I was interested in since I inherited my sisters old skateboard.
Actually it was one of those narrow colourful 70ies plastic things, which I never figured out how to do pretty tricks on. The striking thing was that the Z-boys in those days started skateboarding worldwide based on those hardly controllable boards.
It was nice to see where the drive came from and to detect some of the roots of modern skateboarding. And no doubt, it is easy to recommend this movie to anybody who has ever laid a foot on a skateboard (and only if it is for the great soundtrack of 70ies rock)
